Leading pressure relief and fire protection manufacturer improves sales efficiency by implementing BigMachines' configurator and proposal solution

Chicago, IL and San Mateo, CA, January 17, 2008 - BigMachines, Inc., the leading provider of on-demand configuration and proposal software, announced today that Fike Corporation has successfully deployed BigMachines' Lean Front-End (LFE) solution to streamline its front-end selling processes. Fike rapidly standardized on the LFE platform across multiple divisions of the company to improve collaboration between field and internal sales teams, representatives and distributors, and to improve customer service by ensuring their sales teams deliver more accurate orders and professional proposals to their customers.

Fike Corporation designs, manufactures and distributes products for pressure relief, explosion protection and oilfield, as well as systems for commercial and industrial fire protection, and fire alarm to a wide variety of industries on a global basis. The team achieved 100% adoption of nearly 250 users within a one-month rollout of the BigMachines solution, which will enable Fike to retire several legacy applications which previously required outside consultants to administer and maintain.  The new sales platform also more efficiently manages complex product pricing and automates workflow approvals, better ensuring compliance with pricing policies and audit controls.  The added workflow capability is helping to reduce quote turnaround time to help the Fike teams respond faster to customers.

With the help of BigMachines Professional Services, Fike configured a robust configuration rules engine and modeled an efficient quoting process to better manage their unique pricing and approval policies. BigMachines also helped Fike's training teams execute hands-on training sessions for their end users. Future enhancements on the roadmap include order, account, and pricing integration to Oracle's JDEdwards ERP.
