Multiple Companies Select and Deploy BigMachines Lean Front-End to Extend Their Salesforce.com On-Demand CRM Solution

Increasing number if companies are implementing BigMachines' configurator and proposal tools to accelerate sales and order processes

At the salesforce.com Appforce Conference today, BigMachines, Inc., a leading provider of web-based configuration and quoting software solutions for manufacturers of complex products, announced it has contracted to license its on-demand Lean Front-End (LFE) solution to several customers using CRM software from salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM), the market and technology leader in on-demand business services. The new deals are the result of a 2005 certification agreement forged between the two companies, and now available through the salesforce.com AppExchange. The announcement was made today at Appforce, salesforce.com’s first annual AppExchange partner, user and developer conference.

In the new implementations, the LFE solutions – including BigMachines CPP (Configure, Price, Propose) and BigMachines SPP (Select, Price, Propose) – are designed to be tightly integrated with the salesforce.com AppExchange on-demand platform. This integration allows salesforce.com users to enjoy seamless and certified integration of the entire opportunity-to-order process, including product selection, configuration, pricing, quoting and ordering.

LFE New Customer Wins

One of the companies implementing BigMachines CPP is Teradyne ATD (Assembly Test Division), a global leader in electronics assembly test and inspection solutions. According to Andrew Hutchinson of the Teradyne Assembly Test Division: “We selected BigMachines because they are the clear leader in delivering out-of-the box web-based configuration and quoting software that integrates seamlessly with our salesforce.com CRM tool.”

Managed Planet, a software design company delivering plug-in IT management enhancement tools for SMBs and global enterprises, has contracted to implement BigMachines' SPP (Selection, Pricing and Proposal) solution to automate its previously manual front-end quoting processes.

Another new customer win for BigMachines' CPP is zed.i Solutions Inc., the emerging leader in production intelligence management for resource industries. Salesforce.com Customers "Go Live" on BigMachines LFE BigMachines also announced that two previously announced joint customers have gone live with deployments of Salesforce and BigMachines CPP, and are already experiencing positive results. These include Medtronic SNT (Surgical Navigation Technologies), a division of Medtronic, the world's largest manufacturer of image-guided surgery systems, accessories and software applications; and Pearson Packaging Systems, a leader in the design and manufacture of packaging machinery for the food, beverage, personal care and other industries.
