Support Sales Engineer
Location Deerfield, IL (Chicago North Suburbs) & San Mateo, CA BigMachines, Inc., a rapidly growing web software company located in Chicago's north suburbs (Deerfield), is in search of a new Jr. Sales Engineer. The company has been growing 50-100% p.a., is led by a strong management team, has forged close partnerships with on-demand software industry leaders including Oracle and salesforce.com, and is backed by strong financial investors who are looking for the company to continue driving rapid growth and value creation.
The Support Sales Engineer will have the opportunity to drive the development of BigMachines software demonstrations leveraging the latest web 2.0 technologies. This rapidly growing organization is in need of a highly motivated individual who looks forward to the challenge of helping in creating, building, and growing our business.
The Support Sales Engineer position will report directly to the Director of Sales Engineering and will have the opportunity to work closely with multiple teams throughout the organization to drive the company's long-term success and to drive immediate sales. They will have the opportunity to grow into more senior roles within the company, which is committed to promoting talent from within.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with our sales team and marketing leadership team to identify and then implement new features and demo enhancement requirements. This includes implementing demos for new vertical industries as well as enhancing our existing demo lineup.
- Support the sales team in implementing "custom demos" and proofs-of-concepts for prospective customers that will showcase the capabilities and functionality of the BigMachines application with the prospective customer's products.
- Be well versed in the functionality and capabilities of the BigMachines leading-edge web software technology as it is today and will be in the future and drive demo enhancements along these directions.
- Maintain a regular demo release schedule with enhancement documentation.
- Be a project manager, facilitator and implementer for BigMachines' demo and custom demo applications.
Qualifications:
- Strong technical ability
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- High level of energy, persistence, and strong desire to do whatever it takes to win
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, and programming skills
- Quick learner and able to learn new programming languages and/or concepts on own as necessary
- Knowledge of user interface design and web design contraints is helpful
- BS or MS degree from a reputable 4-year college/university
