Sales Engineer
BigMachines, Inc., a rapidly growing web software company (www.bigmachines.com) located in London's southwest suburb (Staines, Middlesex), is in search of a new Sales Engineer. The company has been growing 50-100% p.a., is led by a strong management team, has forged close partnerships with on-demand software industry leaders including Oracle and Salesforce.com, and is backed by strong financial investors who are looking for the company to continue driving rapid growth and value creation.
The Sales Engineer will have the opportunity to drive the development of BigMachines software demonstrations leveraging the latest web 2.0 technologies. This rapidly growing organization is in need of a highly motivated individual who looks forward to the challenge of helping in creating, building, and growing our business.
The Sales Engineer position will report directly to the Direct of Sales Engineering and will have the opportunity to work closely with multiple teams throughout the organization to drive the company's long-term success and to drive immediate sales. They will have the opportunity to grow into more senior roles within the company, which is committed to promoting talent from within.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly support our UK based sales team during the sales process as the technical expert.
- Work closely with your sales reps by:
- understanding the prospects requirements and relating them to functionality within the BigMachines application,
- performing demos of the BigMachines' application as related to the prospect's business needs,
- assist in on-site breakthrough opportunity analysis processes – a business mapping and requirement definition process,
- assist in answering RFPs / RFQs from prospective customers,
- setup custom demos showcasing prospect's offering and business requirements when required,
- provide project scope and requirements in a statement of work, including professional service fees to be included as part of the contract to prospective customer,
- provide post-sales support to BigMachines Professional Service teams to enable for a smooth transition from sales to implementation for the customer.
- Work closely with team members to identify and help implement new standard demo features and enhancement requirements. This includes implementing demos for new vertical industries as well as enhancing our existing demo lineup.
- Support the sales team in implementing “custom demos” and proofs-of-concepts for prospective customers that will showcase the capabilities and functionality of the BigMachines' application with the prospective customer's products.
- Be well versed in the functionality and capabilities of the BigMachines leading-edge web software technology as it is today and will be in the future.
Qualifications:
- Strong technical ability
- Strong ability to address the business needs of a prospective customer in a sales environment while having an in depth technological knowledge of BigMachines' software
- Strong technical ability combined with the ability to effectively communicate well at all organizational levels
- Excellent presentation and customer facing skills
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
High level of energy, persistence, and strong desire to do whatever it takes to win
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, and programming skills
- Quick learner and able to learn new programming languages and/or concepts on own as necessary
- Knowledge of user interface design and web design constraints is helpful
- BS or MS degree from a reputable 4-year college/university
