BigMachines Unplugged generates quotes even when you’re offline from the Internet. Once you are back online, you can populate these quotes back to the central database for quote management, revisions, tracking, and reporting. On your computer, it appears similar to being connected to the central server – you are able to use the same familiar browser interface to run BigMachines software, even without an internet connection. However, you are accessing and storing data on a local Oracle Lite database rather than interacting with the central database server.
Before going offline, you can download the current data and rules, and then operate the system offline to generate sales quotes using BigMachines. These quotes are stored on your local computer. When you reconnect to the internet, the quotes are pushed back to the central database server. The architecture for the offline solution is shown here:

Offline users can configure, price, and generate quotes as well as go online
to upload and download quotes to and from a central database
